Word Doodles, Fun Stuff, Color Fix,and a Quote

My Word Doodle : Bubbles

If you have been following my blog, you know that I am doing a doodle a week to a word prompt given over at Jaye's blog. The word was "Bubbles". I am enjoying the process of drawing again. It has been so long and I look forward every week to these words. I hide a little something inside each design that makes it "mine". This week I used highlighters to color in my designs! I actually think that I will make this one a quilt someday soon. I hope you'll come join us . You don't have to draw, you can interpret the word any way you choose inside your journal...fabrics, magazinbe cutouts....it's up to you!

I was having some fun on my computer (the desktop), not the laptop that crashed, and found this photo of flowers I took in Lubec, Germany. I wanted to see what they would look like if I did some photo manipulation to them and was pleasantly suprised that I saw a quilt pattern.Click on it if you want to see it larger!

I wanted to share something fun. Every so often, we do word or phrase prompts on my little yahoo group and make small applique blocks portraying the word. Afterwards, we have a little game to see who wins all the small blocks. The prompt for this one was "Undies on the line" and this was my little version.
The block is 6".

Oh No! Another patchwork chair...will they ever end? Just teasing. I am curious how many others reupholster their chairs with patchwork, or something like this. If you have made something out of your orphan blocks, other than a quilt, let me know and I'll post it right here. It would be alot of fun to see how we re purpose our quilting!

YOUR COLOR FIX FOR TODAY

I love quotes. They inspire me and make me think. A quote has to grab my attention and stay with me. I thought that every so often, I would share some of my favorite quotes with you. When a quote inspires me, I jot it down inside my journal.
Ideas not coupled with action never become bigger than the brain cells they occupied.
